TikTok effects

Indomie Slide Puzzle

Create a visual hook people can interpret, react to and make their own.

EXPLORETHE EXPERIENCE

One effect. Room for many interpretations.

The most useful starting point for a social effect is not “what can we add?” but “what could someone do with this?” ehrlilab develops TikTok effect concepts with participation at the center. Creative direction and interaction are considered together, so the effect gives people a recognizable idea without prescribing every part of the content they make.

Visual transformations

Explore a change in look, mood or environment that expresses the campaign in a direct, visually readable way.

Interactive choices

Give participants a decision to make, with a result that adds a personal angle to their own video.

Personality-led reveals

Use a light, clearly playful reveal to open up self-expression without presenting fictional results as real assessments.

Simple game hooks

Build around a quick challenge or clear goal that can be understood without a long explanation.

Creator-friendly prompts

Shape a concept with room for interpretation, so the effect supports the content rather than competing with it.

Branded visual systems

Carry typography, color, character and product cues into an effect while keeping the person and interaction at the center.

Head-led quiz ideas

Explore camera-led questions and answer gestures, with the input method selected around current platform support and audience clarity.

Sliding puzzles

Turn an image into a compact tile challenge, with a clear goal and controls chosen for the effect’s delivery format.

Timed challenges

Add pace through short rounds and visible feedback, keeping the difficulty appropriate to the audience and interaction.

Scene changes

Develop a visual shift in mood or setting that gives the participant a clear before-and-after moment.

Wearable details

Explore expressive accessories and graphic accents within the supported tracking approach, without overwhelming the participant’s own performance.

Character moments

Bring an original character into the creative prompt through visual interaction, animation or a playful reveal suited to the platform.

Why make
the story
interactive?

01

Offer a creative starting point

Give creators and participants a recognizable idea without scripting every part of their content.

02

Let personality come through

Leave room for different reactions, interpretations and ways to take part.

03

Connect effect and campaign

Carry the story through the interaction, visual language and prompt—not just the final screen.

04

Leave space for the person

Keep the effect readable without overwhelming the face, performance or reaction that makes each video different.

From idea to experience.

01

Define the behavior

Start with what someone might record, choose or react to. Connect that behavior to the brand rather than relying on decoration.

02

Make a working idea

Build the core effect, assess readability and refine the visual language. Keep the interaction focused on one strong creative hook.

03

Prepare the experience

Test the agreed flow and polish the details. Confirm current platform requirements and publishing responsibilities as part of the project scope.

A few good questions.

Can we adapt a Snapchat concept for TikTok?

Sometimes, but the creative and interaction should be reconsidered for the intended platform. An existing idea is a useful starting point, not a guarantee of a direct technical conversion.

Do you guarantee reach or a trend?

No. An effect can provide a strong creative prompt, but reach depends on distribution, audience response and the wider campaign. We do not promise views, participation levels or virality.

Can you work with an agency’s creative direction?

Yes. Bring the concept, campaign world and brand guidance. We can explore how the idea becomes an effect, with scope, responsibilities and approval stages agreed before production.

What happens between the brief and delivery?

We agree the objective and interaction, review a visual direction, build a working version and refine it against the agreed scope. Review points and handover responsibilities are set before development.

Who handles platform approval and publishing?

We agree the publishing account and responsibilities at the start. Platform review is separate from the creative build, so approval, distribution and exact review timing are not guaranteed by the studio.

What assets do you need from us?

Usually the campaign brief, brand guidelines, approved logos, product imagery and any required copy. We identify gaps early and agree which assets you provide and which need to be created.

How are revisions and ownership handled?

Revision rounds, deliverables, source-file handover and usage rights belong in the project scope. We confirm those details before work starts rather than assume the same arrangement fits every project.

What about launch support and measurement?

The launch plan should identify who publishes, distributes and monitors the experience. We can discuss appropriate handover and measurement options for the platform; reach and campaign outcomes are not promised.
